Foote shall be divided into Pikes and Shot. They shall train, drill and maneuver together for the most part, though there shall be necessarily some separation for individual skill-at-arms for their specific armaments.
Basic kit for Foote for Actions of the Lowe Countries would be Unarmoured Pikeman, which would amount to the following:
It is encouraged that all Pikemen upgrade themselves with some armour, such as a Morion, Cabasset or Burgonet helmet, corselet, tassets and any other armour pieces that they may think sufficient to become Armed Pikes.
Those who can are encouraged to equip and accoutre themselves as Shotte, with matchlock* arquebus, caliver or musket and their bandolier of charges. One pound of gunpowder, and sufficient match, shall be needed for drill and mock battle.
Only arquebuses, calivers and muskets fitted with the proper period (1480-1650) ignition systems (preferably matchlock, but wheellock, snaphaunce and English-lock are also acceptable) may be carried and used by Shot for the School of the Renaissance Soldier. The suitability of any particular firearm to be on the field will be totally at the discretion of the Muster Master or his designates.
